Product Warning: Spartan's Airlift Tropical Air Freshener

Spartan's Airlift Tropical air freshener has been lavishly used in the computer center where I often work. It smells nice. It cuts the odor of sulfur water, which is probably the nastiest harmless odor on Earth.

But beware! The directions on the spray can say blandly that "Some individuals may be sensitive to ingredients in this product." Does that mean that these chemicals may give you a headache? Possibly that too, but they may also accelerate female hormone cycles. Such that, since the computer center staff have started using Airlift Tropical spray, if I spend a day in the computer center after the exact midpoint of my personal month, I'm likely to start menstruating during that day.

If you are a woman who doesn't want to try using hormone pills to suppress or delay your hormone cycle, but wants to rush through one particular period for convenience, "freshening" your air with this product may help. I wanted to travel a bit last weekend, and it worked for me.

If you are trying to conceive a baby or carry one to term, I recommend avoiding this product and any place where it's been used.

Exactly how bad is Airlift Tropical air freshener? I don't know. There are natural foods and herbs, including ginger, several members of the mint family (especially pennyroyal), and soy products, that contain natural phytoestrogens. While using these foods and herbs seems to help men and older women control their blood pressure, there are times when some younger women need to avoid them too.

[Edit: It has to be synchronicity--this topic seldom comes up in the e-mail--but here's an article about some more foods that may also have strange effects on some women: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/8405795/3_tropical_fruits_that_can_cause_miscarriage.html?cat=5]

I'd like to be able to offer more information about the chemicals in Airlift Tropical, but the company doesn't have a web page and I don't have access to the box that supposedly contains more detailed information than the spray can has. So all I can say at this point is that women should be extra-careful about this product.
