A Helping Paw for Abused Children

Vicki D. Messer, a survivor of sexual abuse, reports on a dog who's been trained to offer abused children a helping paw as they face the secondary trauma of testifying against abusers:

Yet another reason why those who detest domestic animals, many of whom unfortunately occupy leadership positions in P.E.T.A. and the Humane Society, should be allowed to direct their version of "ethical" or "humane" behavior strictly toward one another. (Note--no violence here. Although their idea of ethical, humane treatment of cats, dogs, and horses seems to refer primarily to killing, since all of them feel this way, whatever they do to one another would be consensual!)
