Grade Inflation: HB727

When I went to Gate City High School, letter grades were assigned to percentage point scores thusly: 95-100% correct answers for an A; 85-94 for a B; 75-84 for a C; 70-74 for a D; and below 70 percent correct answers meant you'd failed the test.

If enacted, Virginia's House Bill #727 would inflate each letter grade and lower the standard for passing a test, or a course, significantly:

Could we try to pull other schools' standards up, rather than pulling the best schools' standards down?
