If enacted, Virginia's House Bill #999 would provide up to $500 in tax credits for the employee who teleworks. Full text:

If I were the one writing this bill, I'd omit the weaselly stipulation about "hours," which some neurotic soul out there could interpret to require employees to commute to work for just an hour or two every day. In order for teleworking to be really good for everyone, it should be done on at least two entire days out of the work week. However, on the perhaps unjustified assumption that most employers understand that the point of teleworking is to consolidate all the "face time" into full days, I'll agree that HB999 is better than nothing in this direction.
