Will the Real Lynxes Please Float Up?

Sorry, I couldn't resist the wordplay on Liz Klimas' commentary on these photos of rare Canadian lynxes. I have no opinion on which of these lynxes were photographed in captivity and which are actually snowshoeing on deep, ice-crusted snow with those big paws...but these are lynx pictures. Note the differences from the much more common American bobcat: bigger animal, dappled coat, bigger paws relative to body.

And isn't it nice to see that somebody out there got a reasonable amount of snow this winter?
