Quote: "'You don't know if you got a haircut? Well, tell me this: Was your head with you all day?' 'I don't know,' says the boy."

During the 1980s America's best-loved TV father was the father of five actual children in real life. How to describe the book he wrote about it? This is a book about being an active, caring father who also happens to be a comedian. In the 1980s, when fatherhood really could mean "telling your daughter that Michael Jackson loves all his fans, but has special feelings for the ones who eat broccoli."

Further research may be necessary to determine whether parents who are, or think they could have been, comedians are more likely to raise children who answer everything with "I don't know" because they're afraid the comedy-oriented parent will turn whatever they say into a comedy act...I don't know.

Anyway: if you remember the Cosby Show, you either have already read this book, or will want to read it now that it's available at such low prices. (E-mail salolianigodagewi@yahoo.com, pay $5 for the book and $5 for shipping, and the Doctor of Comedy gets to donate $1 out of that $10 total to his favorite charity.) If you do not remember the Cosby Show, you are probably very young, and reading this book would be a nice way to share memories and stories with your parents.
