White House Petitions

Apart from what I'd describe as the silly stuff about secession, the White House Petitions page contains a few nice bits of fluff (send the President to visit a sick child), and two petitions I'd encourage all U.S. readers to sign. This system is for U.S. voters only.

Do you want the truth about the Libya murders to be investigated in depth? Here's your petition:

Do you want to know whether food you might be eating has been genetically modified?

Warning: Although signing up to use the online petitions system doesn't give the White House the password to your e-mail account, it does give the White House your e-mail address. If you're already on the White House e-mail list, nothing will change. If you have something to hide...the position of this web site is that the only thing you should have to hide, online, is who and where you are in the real world. (In other words, you shouldn't be e-mailing anything that would cause anyone but a stalker or identity thief to try to find you in the real world.)
