Another Pistol-Packing Citizen Helps Us All

Confession time: Yesterday's Nielsen-Hayden post, suggesting that devices made for killing can't be used to save lives, caused me to think uncharitable thoughts. So will everyone please read Jason Howerton's latest report on how an armed private citizen prevented a bank robbery:

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/gun-carrying-arizona-man-helps-nab-bank-robber-and-all-he-had-to-do-was-show-the-suspect-he-was-armed/

Hmm. We've not had a category for "firearms rights" on this web site before. I've been filing firearms rights stories under "U.S. Constitution" along with freedom of assembly, freedom of the press, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of association, property rights, freedom from warrantless searches, and so on. Should we make it easier for the Old Left? Should we start a separate category for "firearms rights" here?

Fair disclosure: This web site has received sponsorship from a gun shop, in the past, but the last time I saw the owner he admitted that due to illness in the family he's not even gone online for months. The children (ages in the 20-40 range) have been minding the store. We wish all of them well. Let's call the "firearms rights" category a Christmas present for them...if only to mess with the Christmas-hating Christian-phobics' minds.
