Don't "Go Paperless"

Even when corporate spokesmen think they can keep confidential information safer in some electronic file than it is on paper...(1) if it's your information, you need to keep it; and (2) their sense of security is valid for six months, max; and (3) anything that's as vulnerable to weather conditions as computers are is not as secure as paper.

Even when information that's put on the Internet is public--as here--as long as it exists only in the form of magnetic pulses, it's not as secure as it is when it's printed out and stored in a real place.
