Veterans Expo in Cedar Bluff

SENATORS PHILLIP PUCKETT AND BILL CARRICO ANNOUNCE DETAILS OF VETERANS EXPO
 
Cedar Bluff, VA----Senator Phillip Puckett and Senator Bill Carrico will co-host the 1st Annual Veterans Expo at SWCC at the Charles R. King Community Center of Southwest Virginia Community College in Cedar Bluff, VA from 10AM to 3PM on June 1st.
 
The free event, designed to provide Veterans, family members and surviving spouses a day of networking and valuable information about veteran-related resources region, will include elements of inspiration, entertainment, excitement and fun.

Veterans will be honored with an opening ceremony beginning at 10AM. Lt. Mark L. Donald, retired US Navy SEAL, Physician Assistant and Published Author of Battle Ready, will be speaking during the Veterans Expo. Mark retired from the Navy as one of the highest decorated Veterans of the Iraq and Afghan wars and conveys an inspirational message that everyone can identify with and from which they can all learn.
 
Rebecca Pepin, co-anchor of WCYB and WEMT, is the editorial director for Faces of Freedom, a book that profiles fallen military men and women who have lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan since 9/11.  Attendees will get a chance to visit with Rebecca and have her autograph copies of the book.  All proceeds of the book go to Fisher House and Wounded Warrior Project.
  
The Vet Center Mobile Counseling Unit and the DMV 2 Go Mobile Unit will be onsite.  The DMV 2 Go Mobile enables attendees to apply for or renew Veteran ID cards as well as other services.
 
Attendees will be able to enjoy the free food and entertainment which include musical acts throughout the event, the Eric McClure Race Car exhibit, the Virginia Wounded Warrior Drag Car, the giant Food City Shopping Cart, and more.
