From the grandson of the designer of one of the most efficient refrigerators in history, here's an article about why the Energy Star is not the only thing to rely on when you're in the market for an energy-efficient refrigerator. (Showing that government is not the only thing to rely on if we want manufacturers to build better refrigerators, either. Government owes industry money, and tends to be open to the kind of negotiations that won't even start if a critical mass of customers let industry know that we want refrigerators that cost us less money.)
