More Special Privileges for the Annoying: HB977

Virginia's House Bill #977 would, if enacted, accomplish two undesirable goals: (1) create special protections and privileges for those who can't shut up about their sexual feelings, which is in fact an impediment to job performance; and (2) outlaw special recognition for veterans, most of whom have gained work experience that is in fact an asset to job performance. There's not much difference between HB977 and HB689, and, as noted about HB689, a better anti-discrimination bill has already been filed:

This bill would, if enacted, ban discrimination based on any reason "not related to qualifications, ability, or performance." That includes everything that people do discreetly, and protects no behavior that is genuinely annoying.

HB613 is the anti-discrimination bill we need. HB977, which differs from HB689 only in adding "lactation" as grounds for special privileges, is another bill that can be most useful as furnace-lighting material.
