Poor People Can't Own Land Under HB775

Virginia House Bill #775 would, among other things, rule people ineligible for Medicare if they own a house that sits on enough land to be assessed at a value of $5,000. That's less than one acre--even if the house is a trailer, or one of those cheap houses that were slapped up for the temporary housing of laborers in the 1920s. Full text here:

If enacted, this bill would force thousands of independent families and seniors to give up their rural homes. And then where would they go? Into the government housing developments, or future slums, where the planners of Agenda 21 seem to think Americans belong?

Fellow Virginians, please urge your Delegates to oppose this bill unless and until it's amended to allow Grandma to keep her vegetable garden, wood lot, orchard, etc., up to a value of $50,000.
