Republicans in Crisis: HB736

If enacted, Virginia House Bill #736 would delay the presidential primary elections to allow Republicans other than Ron Paul and Mitt Romney a chance to get their names onto the ballots. Full text:

Personally, I'd like to see Ron Paul reach some compromise with the Republicans about his isolationist policies and win the party's undivided support. I don't know that the prospect of watching Romney, Gingrich, and the generic tax-and-spenders sling mud at each other offers much benefit to anybody.

Nevertheless, HB736 is an entertaining read because it redefines the whole concept of an "emergency." Just when you were thinking that, if you read the words "a state of emergency exists" today, you'd be reading about the Alabama tornado or some similar disaster...
