Toasted Skin Syndrome

It's not really news, so much as the extent to which it's happening is news. Any heat source up to which people snuggle, in winter, could potentially cause "toasted skin" as the skin is exposed to low levels of dry heat for extended periods of time. Warm car seats, laptops, fireplaces, space heaters, heating pads, electric blankets...here's the CBS report:

In the late 1970s, the first report on this I read linked the syndrome with cancer; note that CBS doesn't mention any confirmation of the link. But "toasted skin" obviously isn't healthy. So get up and let your blood circulate the warmth through your body, already.
