The following announcement was e-mailed by correspondents from Bristol and Abingdon, Virginia:
"Two of the most outspoken opponents
of The Crooked Road National Heritage Area designation are Bill Gibson, a
Washington County Virginia supervisor and his twin brother Bob Gibson, a Russell
County commissioner. Both of the Gibson brothers will be guests of Rob
Schilling, the popular Charlottesville area conservative talk show
host today at 12:45PM.(Listen Live

At a jam-packed Russell County
Board of Supervisors meeting last night, March 4, 2013, the commissioners passed
a Resolution of Non-Support for The Crooked Road National Heritage Area
designation supported by Congressman Morgan Griffith and Senator Mark
Warner.
Local citizens, farmers
and members of the Virginia Farm Bureau shared their feelings with more than an
hour of public comments against what is largely viewed as a threat to private
property rights and a stealth move toward regional, unelected
governance.
Russell County commissioners joined
Wythe County and the Town of Rural Retreat with passage of their resolution
against designating nineteen rural Southwest Virginia counties as The Crooked
Road Heritage Music Trail under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service,
with The Crooked Road Board of Directors as the managing
entity.
