Web Log for 7.20.26

Mostly music, but I did find two news stories and a poem worth sharing.

Glyphosate Awareness

Tariffs on Canada for pollution from their suddenly annual wildfires? What about some help to put the fires out? Then find out whether it's true that Canada suddenly has a worse fire problem than California because they've been spraying their forests with glyphosate. They've admitted the spraying; it's the causal connection that remains to be confirmed.

Gardening

Is everyone Out There finding good uses for all your "weeds"?

Homelessness

Karen "La Bassura" Bass suggests that homeless people use meth to stay awake at night because they're afraid of being attacked. It's possible. Many people become homeless in the first place because they are addicts. They trade drugs to support their own addictions. Homeless people who were not addicts start using drugs, in some cases, to cope with the misery of being homeless. So let's just say that using meth is a really very bad solution to the reasonable fear of sleeping on the street when you still have anything that has value in the homeless community, like shoes.

People aren't angry because she reports these things. They are justifiably angry because she babbles about using public funds to support them.
