Book Review: Witch's Block

Title: Witch's Block

Author: Amy Boyles

Quote: "Paige's never seen a ghost in her entire life."

So says her vindictive ex-husband, who's not intelligent enough to realize that sabotaging the sales of Paige's ghost books will reduce the amount of her income he can claim as alimony. (He's disabled as a result of falling out of a tree he had climbed in order to peek into the neighbors' window.) At the time what he says is true. It's due to change, shortly before he's murdered in Paige's new house, and Paige has to prove she didn't do it.

The ghost will become her new best friend as she works to solve the mystery. After discovering that she's a witch, Paige will become friendly with some of the other witches in her magical town, and with a male hunter of magical creatures that attack witches. There will be a series. There will be a slow-burn romance.

All who find this sort of thing amusing can expect to be amused.
