Actually I've been doing something else on the computer, not mourning about the election. However, the Internet is full of gloating and grieving about the election this week. Two links I did find ought to be enough of that for anybody...
Election
Lots of things bear part of the blame. Including decent, public-spirited people who still think they have any influence on what currently calls itself the Democratic Party, as if its policy weren't completely determined now by the Democratic Socialists. This web site's job is not to make decent, public-spirited people feel like fools; the Democratic Socialists can take care of that, and they will.
However.
Socialism comes to a big, rich country where poverty has never been much of a concern, if only because they have to be fairly well outfitted even to try to survive their weather:
If we allow the midterm-election-as-show-of-dissatisfaction to accomplish anything beyond petty emotional gratification for the Ds, until that party eliminates its Democratic Socialists and gets back into touch with its base, it can happen here too. I say this with deep regret. I would like to vote D again.
