Book Review: Grumpy Firefighter Dad

Title: Grumpy Firefighter Dad

Author: Luna Lovelace

Date: 2024

Quote: "The far-off cry of sirens announced the approach of another ambulance carrying people who were critically ill and in need of medical assistance. As the situation became more critical, the medical staff took immediate action and coordinated a flawless display of precision and care."

This is one of those reviews I don't like to write...This is not a novel. It is not a sweet romance. It is light porn about a hospital worker and a firefighter. Each of the eight individual chapters gives vague, Linked-In-style references to something that could be a plot element, which is never resolved--we don't find out what caused that rush of people into the hospital, whether Charlie can or should homeschool his daughters, how or why Romy's ex plants black dahlias on her lawn, whether she's going to marry him, or whether Charlie even wants more of a relationship than quickie sex in the truck, which, given that Romy can't bring herself in chapter 8 to tell Charlie that she promised to marry her ex in chapter 7, he might reasonably think was enough. That Linked In style of writing screams that this "e-book" was written entirely by a computer--that every phrase was stolen from other people's writing.

If you're looking for light porn that makes no sense and was written by a plagiarism program, this book is for you.
