Sijo Time Again

Other years' sijo competitions have been held in the spring, but one's going on now, in September, at

https://www.sejongculturalsociety.org/writing/current/resources/sijo_guide.php

The link gives many explanations, including video lectures, of how traditional Korean sijo were written and performed and what was considered to make the best ones.

Somehow this prompts me to offer today's status update in the shape of a sijo. I doubt very much that it would be considered a good one.

To outlive an enemy who is older is a delight
When it is his own misdeeds dragging him down when only sixty!
The sight of heirs repeating his foolish deeds blows my mind.

Yes. Glyphosate exposure can damage the brain. My Professional Bad Neighbor has contributed to the untimely deaths of nearly all his close relatives; he's down to one brother and what appear to be one niece and her young man, and they've been buzzing through the neighborhood, dutifully repeating the mistakes of what their miserable family have left for a patriarch. You know who you are, Stupid Ones, and you know that if he hadn't gone overboard with the spray poisoning he had the genetic potential to have been called "that young man" for another fifteen years. He's become "the old man" in the last year, though, hasn't he? If you doubt that the same things can happen to you, think again. How old was your Old Man's daughter when she died?

You can write a better sijo than this one, whether you've ever heard the word ("SHE-jo:) pronounced or not. I would love to see the Poets & Storytellers United's sijo's.
