The Angleterry is a beast
that prowls through outer space
in search of planets where to feast
on the indigenous race.
It looks just like a pretty rug
at first sight, when it meets you,
but rather than keep your feet snug,
it rises up and eats you.
It's in a book, not from the U.K.
It sounds like angles and like terror,
and the author always used to say
she never thought of Angleterre.
