LOTS of Veterans Day content on the Internet today. I'm trying not to go there. I no longer have a veteran to celebrate with. To those who have one, I hope you showed him (or her) a good time.
Animals
What used to be called the Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker, but that name sounded too much as if it ought to be an insult to a human. The birds aren't all that bad!
Bill Watterson knew what White-Faced Hornets are really like. They are nice, peaceful neighbors who eat flies and mosquitoes. If they attack you, I'd be likely to take their side, too. Hobbes might have been excessive to do this to a stupid kid who threw rocks at the hornets' nest, but it should absolutely happen to anyone who sprays poison on hornets.
Ganked from http://theviewfromladylake.blogspot.com/2025/11/a-real-friend-wouldnt-take-their-side.html, where it may be easier to see in full size. Warning: that site often features content that may offend some of this site's readers. I don't mind that men like to look at young women in short shorts, myself.
