Does Using a False Name Affect Your Constitutional Rights?

If using a false name affects our Constitutional rights, then each and every person who uses the Internet should be affected, since it's very, very stupid to display our real names on the Internet.

Mr. Rigmaiden's use of a fake ID is probably a crime...but the Department of Justice should be addressing the real crime, which was a retailer's demanding to see any ID before selling a product or service to a customer.

Want to make sure customers pay for ongoing services, such as cell phones? Bill them for the duration of service, at the beginning, and cut off service if payment has not been made at the end of the time agreed upon. It's that simple. You don't need, and shouldn't ask, their names. And if you ask them for their names just for your records, they have a constitutional right to give names like "Cash Customer" or "Any User" or "Bogus O'Finkelstein," and your duty to accept those names needs to be spelled out in the law.
