The private person known to this website as my Significant Other stopped fighting early this morning.
He'd been fighting Lyme Disease for years. His best season was 2020, while "Roundup" was off the market. In early 2021, feeling confident, he wanted to have the coronavirus vaccine first and show other people that it was safe. Toward the end of 2021, he called to tell me he was going in for surgery and would call again afterward. He never did call me again. He said a few words to family members, and his Tracfone was paid up in case he wanted to use it, but apparently he never called anybody.
When he and I were in school, we read about the heroes of medical research in the older generation, Walter Reed and Jesse Lazear, who worked together to prove that yellow fever was mosquito-borne not airborne. Dr. Reed lived to receive the rewards for the study. Dr. Lazear died of yellow fever.
There will be a proper obituary, giving his name, age, real-world biography, and all that, in due time. It will not appear at this web site.
