This week's Long And Short Reviews link-up invites people to share a favorite YouTube video.
I tend to think my first favorite music video was Pink Floyd's "We Don't Need No Education," but despite growing up in a TV-free home, I am older than that. I liked "Sesame Street," for which my parents thought I ought to have been too old, but it was cute. I liked "The Electric Company." And even before that I have fond, though vague, memories of having chickenpox in a dreary little motel on the Pacific coast, watching cartoon versions of the Beatles flounder about in a "sea of holes" before they reached the "sea of green."
YouTube has some videos but the ones I watched weren't great, so let's move forward in time . I don't usually watch the video on YouTube but people have posted some old favorite LP albums to YouTube, with or without animated video accompaniments. On the assumption that everyone knows where to find their favorite rock, jazz, and country albums, here are some things that are harder to classify and may be more interesting to listen to.
1. Mannheim Steamroller's "Fresh Aire" used to be heard all over my church college campus:
2. The Primitive Quartet's "Breaking of Day," by itself...
and an early "Best Of" album, if you like their sound.
3. John McCutcheon's "Wry Straw" album, the first record I bought with my own hard-earned money:
4. John Michael and Terry Talbot's "Painter" album was posted to YouTube in two halves, including the rough beginning that made everyone think something was wrong with their record.
5. Vintage Steeleye Span:
Granted, when music is recorded commercially and "branded" and copyrighted, it's not folk music. Also granted, some people's "brand" of music that "plain folk" liked was pretty amateurish. You may not have been a fan of these musicians when these albums were new. You may not become one after hearing them. Then again, you might. And if you turn away from the computer and dance (or exercise) when you hear music, you'll have a wonderfully aerobic day.
Pretty cool! My dad loves folk music.

Thanks for the videos. I didn't have answers for this week's prompt until now. So I did a previous one.
