Book Review: A Very Spirited Christmas at Wainsworth Estates

Title: A Very Spirited Christmas at Wainsworth Estates

Author: Sheryl M. Frazer

Quote: "Belinda would enthusiastically spin gruesome tales about it..."

"It" being Wainsworth Estates, the Northumberland country inn where Belinda has just taken a job. One night, working the night shift with only the cat for company, she's haunted by the ghosts whose stories she has told prospective guests. They're here to tell their stories, their way. And what about the cat whose cozy, purring company helps Belinda cope with being haunted? Other people at the hotel see her too. There's nothing ghostly about the cat...until one of the ghosts says that she died two days before he did. Is he telling the truth? Is he mistaken?

This is not really a novel. It's not really a short story. It's the sort of publication Amazon makes possible, a mini-book as "prequel" that introduces the characters in a full-length book.

If you like a Christmas ghost story you might enjoy this one, and the longer tale to which it leads. The Book Funnel edition I received is, however, flawed by not containing the obligatory reminder of what the full-length book is and how to order it.
