Book Review: A Study in Mischief

Title: A Study in Mischief

Author: Lydia Sherrer

Date: 2016

ISBN: 978-1-950267-09-5

Publisher: Chenoweth

Quote: "[R]eal magic wasn't as convenient as the ridiculous drivel that was peddled in pop culture."

In what Sherrer calls the Love Lies and Hocus Pocus universe, Lily and the friends she makes in this "prequel" novella  live in Atlanta and practice magic as part of their jobs. There's a magical mystery in the story but the purpose of the story is to introduce Lily, her friend Seth, and the mixed-up kid they befriend as they solve the mystery, as main characters in a series of longer stories.

If you enjoy light romance, cozy mystery, and magic as a branch of science humans haven't figured out how to explain yet, the only thing not to like about this book is that it may make you want the whole series.
