Book Review: Law of the Desert-Born

Title: Law of the Desert Born

Author: Louis L’Amour

Publisher: Bantam

Date: 1983

ISSBN: 0-553-24134-6

Length: 245 pages

Quote: “I have also included special new notes between the stories. In many cases these are historical notes.”

Here are eleven stories, some linked by characters and some not. Each was first published separately in a magazine, then reprinted for this book. All are historical fiction about the future Western States in the nineteenth century.

Collected short stories don’t usually thrill me. This book was no exception. However, people who enjoy TV shows like “Bonanza” and “Gunsmoke” will enjoy these stories.
