Not much surfing today, either. I finally replaced the Lasko fan. I hadn't used it much but the prospect of going into a heat wave without it was demoralizing.

Democrats have made noises, all my life, about wanting to have and to be leaders rather than servants. Oh, for a macho D who'd ignore the polls and the party bosses and, acting as His Own Man, do his job the way HE wants to do it! Well, they've got one, a real-live rogue D populist leader who really is so much of what the R voters want to believe Trump is. And do they rally to his flag? Hoot. The Party Whose Donkey Wants to Kick Them want to censor Robert Kennedy! I could not have made this up.
Listen, ye left-wing loons! Neither Biden nor Harris can be considered electable. Any idea that can be explained to the folks in Rio Linda in terms of something this administration's done can be considered a non-starter. Your best chance of keeping any Ds in any elective office, or keeping three-fifths of the federal offices open, is to rally around a very moderate D. Your alternative to Kennedy would be Trump.

The Chinese Communist Party launched their campaign to eradicate the Falun Gong movement on this day in 1999. Eradicating a movement, as might be done by convincing people that their ideas wouldn't work or their leaders were corrupt, would be of no concern to the rest of the world but in this case eradicating the movement has been alleged to be a euphemism for murdering and torturing its leaders. Y'know, even if their ideas had been moonbatty and their leaders corrupt, because the CCP used such evil measures to oppose them, the world would still be convinced that Falun Gong are right and the CCP are wrong.
