Food (Yuck)

I know one person who still buys "diet" drinks. This link is for her. PARkinson's Disease is caused by exposure to PARaquat--isn't that easy to remember?--but it may be caused by other things too. AsPARtame is a natural amino acid with a synthetic form, "Nutra-Sweet," that's popular as a low-calorie sweetener, but an unnatural imbalance of aspartame has long been known to depress thyroid metabolism (making people who drink a lot of "diet" drinks feel tired, forget things, lose resistance to other diseases, and gain weight easily). Can it eventually cause Parkinson's Disease? Of two things we can be sure: it doesn't help, and the chemical companies will try to blame aspartame for the effects of paraquat spray if they're allowed to market paraquat spray.

Glyphosate Awareness

Chinese scientists in search of the precise mechanism that explains how glyphosate promotes cardiovascular disease. The actual study still costs money to read but here's the summary:

Green

Remember Douglas Adams' remarks about bypasses? People living at the point in between points A and point B wish the people using the bypasses would just sit down and work out where they wanted to be? That's a very Green thing to do. How much driving can you weed out of your schedule?

Health

How do we know this writer is a blue-eyed blonde? Nobody else gets told they look good when they're ill. There's a certain type of thin, ethereal blonde who just looks more like some artist's rendition of an angel, or maybe a ghost, when the rest of humankind look frightening. Anyway, what worked for her is likely to help a lot of people who are attracted to computers.

Zazzle

My first bumper sticker...Do I need to design a bumper sticker for every State? The butterfly pictures are already in the collection. People can put together their own design elements. Can't they? It's so easy. They give you a template, and you just pop in a picture, then see whether there's space around it to fill in with words or background colors--even printed patterns.

Not mine. This one's from California.

While I was there, I realized...working from an old list, I'd overlooked New York's State butterfly, which is also regarded as Quebec's provincial emblem. It's an interesting species. Like the Zebra Swallowtail, its northern and southern forms were believed to be different animals for a long time. The northern form is unique, and has two English names, White Admiral or Saskatoon Butterfly; the southern form mimics the Pipevine Swallowtail, and has the English name Red-Spotted Purple (though it always looks more blue than purple to me). Well, both forms are in the collection now.

Here they are on a garden sign/flag:
