Quote: "[M]ind-control magic? Do you know how unethical that is? Not to mention dangerous?"

Sidney Grace, whose main job is still in Boston, is still living with her grandmother in Florida. Is her parents' divorce going to become irretrievable as her father remarries, or will her parents be reconciled? Can the attractive sheriff accept her psychic abilities? Was mind-control magic applied to her parents to get them to divorce--and, if so, by whom? Can Sidney's mother accept the psychic powers that run in the family, even if they've skipped her? What is Sidney's friend Zoe's secret, and who handcuffed her to the radiator? And how can Sidney and her fellow nice witches save the town from the wicked witches in their midst?

This "boxed set of e-books," which happens to be similar in length and complexity to a traditional novel, is for anyone who enjoyed the "Bewitched," "Sabrina," or "Charmed" TV series. (You'll catch references to all three in the e-book, or books.) If the kids realize a parent is reading it, the parent might be embarrassed because it's such a simple fantasy--basic magical thinking--but won't be embarrassed by any sexual, violent, or even vulgar content.

For Christian readers...In these stories, as in the TV shows, witches don't have to renounce Christianity or "sell their souls"; they've never been Christians in the first place. Psychic powers are natural to them, and seem to displace faith. So, should we read this kind of books or watch this kind of TV sitcoms? Some of us undoubtedly are called to do other things with our time. But I think it might be good for some Christians to read about this very modern idea of witchcraft; it might help them to recognize how much of so-called Christian psychology, and the personal advice and the sermons and church services based on it, have consisted of the same kind of magical thinking in different clothing.
