Writing writing writing. If the laptop goes into brick mode this week, at least the posts that are easily pre-scheduled will carry on during recovery. Recovery should be possible; I just don't know how long it will take or how much of a bore it will be.

One picture that seemed worth stealing...
Found at the Meow. The funny little face in the middle is actually a different breed but she reminds me of an Easter Egger hen I used to live with, called Charity. The one on the left, with reddish head and neck and brown back, reminds me just a bit of Charity's half-sister Hope. The other three young hens in the photo don't look like any chickens I knew personally...In a brood that includes a Hope and a Charity, there must be a Faith. Faith committed the great mortal sin of chickens: he turned out to be male. Anyway Hope and Charity stayed with us for a few years. Charity was the most unteachable hen, Hope was the most teachable, and sometimes Hope would explain to Charity what we wanted Charity to do.

Neil Young. One correspondent claims that nobody really likes him. Another correspondent really does, so there we are. All that can be said is that, although in a song (not linked here) he once said "I think I may be a Red man," and some people try to like him out of Native American loyalty, Neil Young now says he investigated and found that his known ancestors were European (including French and Polish). It is possible to like Neil Young for wrong reasons. I like that he had the fortitude to record this song:
