Petfinder Post: Unusual-Looking Cats

This is a hasty, visual post. I'm reading an ARC of a very long and wordy book that moves like the start of a ten-volume series, and it's not my kind of story, and I still haven't finished this week's moth post. A lot has been written about this week's moth. So this Petfinder post was generated by finding the most unusual-looking cat on each page and making sure it sounded reasonably adoptable. As always, if you go to the shelter you might find other cats more appealing in real life; this is a photo contest that we hope will help Picture Them Homes. As always, you're encouraged to share the pictures and links far and wide.

Zipcode 10101: Primrose from New York

I don't have any special relationship with this shelter; it's just that they're located right in the district designated 10101 and they tend to take nice clear photos. This spring, or rather winter, kitten (born last January) is described as a nice, civilized pet. She likes playing with toys, playing (but not roughly) with other kittens, and snuggling beside a human on the couch. The broken tabby stripes that form spots or even checkers are sometimes described as "Ocicat" pattern, but nobody is claiming that she belongs to that breed. She will need another kitten to play with. The shelter will probably recommend one.

Zipcode 20202: Floss from South Carolina

She could never be mistaken for our Mogwai, but at this age she reminds me of Mogwai. Floss is one of those pets who actually come from a rural area and are living in a shelter near where they were born, but because rural shelters don't get a lot of traffic Petfinder lets the animals be listed on pages for big cities. City people can pay extra to have the animal brought to them, or people nearer where the animal is could adopt it. Floss is yet another spring kitten, about the age of our Pastel's lot, so I'm guessing this is an old picture--they say she's average-size. She's still cute, bouncy-pouncy, purry-cuddly, and she will still need another kitten to bounce and snuggle with. As it might be her less unusual-looking orange tabby brother, Toothpaste, who has his own web page: https://www.petfinder.com/cat/toothpaste-72959494/dc/washington/final-victory-animal-rescue-sc497/ .

Zipcode 30303:Agnes from Atlanta

Agnes is just a young cat, not a kitten, currently incarcerated in a city shelter. Nothing is known about her except that, with those spots that suggest lipstick and eyelash extensions, nobody will ever mistake her for the neighbor's cat.

Bonus: Sally from Kingsport

Petfinder provoked this whole post by insisting that our local lurkers just have to see Sally. She doesn't have much of a story, but then she's only a kitten--a well-grown spring kitten. She is believed to be a Ragdoll, which can be a large breed, but usually not gigantic. She is said to be good with other animals.
