Calling all book collectors! This morning at the computer center, which is located inside the library, a man came in requesting book donations for the Mountain Home veterans' hospital in Tennessee.
Mountain Home has its own zip code, but local people describe it in relation to Johnson City, where East Tennessee State University is. Attention university students, teachers, and alumni...this is a hint...
The hospital has a donations page that routinely encourages gifts of stationery, phone cards, clothing and toiletries:

According to volunteer Robert Lane, veterans have also requested books, with specific interest in books by Stephen King and Ernest Hemingway, classics, westerns, and adventures. To arrange for a large batch of books to be picked up, local readers may call Mr. Lane at 276-594-1403.
