Title: Genevieve's Sixth Choice
Author: Sheryl M. Frazer

Quote: "It's another child, Gen."
Genevieve, the "psychic empath" this web site mentioned last week, is back in another emotional adventure of trying to work out what happened to an unconscious patient by touching the patient and sensing per emotions. This time it's a five-year-old who was found wearing only sweatpants, lying unconscious on the ground, not apparently abused except by a fall--but from where could he have fallen? Police Detective Brunner Chao suspects foul play and calls in Genevieve to commune with the spirit of the unconscious little boy.
It's painful for Genevieve to share the feelings of people who are injured, ill, or dying, though she does it for the greater good of all. In this case her reward for sharing the child's confusion and pain is that she finds the greatest danger to his life--still a threat even in the hospital--and saves him.
If you don't mind a story based on a questionable premise, this is an ultra-cozy, feel-good mystery in which nobody ever intends to hurt anybody (though somebody does make a really stupid choice).
Since Genevieve lives in her feelings and is happily married, the story is padded out with the emotions that balance her work--torrid marital sex. One might think Gen and Teddy had been married long enough that Gen could at least wake up below a discreet row of dots thinking how glad she was she'd found such a satisfactory man, but one gets the Harlequin Temptations version of two bedroom scenes. If you are married and find this kind of thing helpful, run don't walk--this short novel is free on Amazon this month, with, of course, the intention that you'll want to buy the rest of the series. And if you like cozy mysteries with steamy romance, you will.
