Quote: "Did he really not remember? We'd been such good friends, but I hadn't heard from him since I left."

It's a series. There are four Delaney brothers--all superficially grumpy, only because they're shy and serious underneath, handsome, mature, doing "exciting" manly jobs, sulking around the world because the women they've fallen in love with have not married them yet and they're afraid to do anything like, y'know, write or call to ask what happened. In this volume the first brother, actually not a cowboy but a stableman, has never recovered from the fact that Zoe, who was just a good friend, took a better-paid job in the city instead of staying in the small town where they met. Oh, and they all have biblical names--this one answers to "Zeke."

Zeke and Zoe. The easiest way to keep track of which romance novels you've already read is the characters' names...

Anyway this is a short, sweet, wholesome romance in which nobody mentions religion but the names tell us where the characters got their moral values. They're old hometown friends, they're old enough to know their own minds, the suspense lies in finding out exactly how they'll be reconciled, and then they will kiss and then they will be planning their lives together. If you're in the mood to read about ways people have made peace after lovers' quarrels, this one's as good as any. I'm not sure I believe that an old hometown friend would not have known Zeke's family were rich, but I can believe that the way they get back onto speaking terms might conceivably have worked for some couple, somewhere.

If you like the idea of a Navy SEAL from Texas washed up on the Carolina coast, Grumpy Billionaire Cowboy is for you.
