New Book Review: The Void

Title: The Void

Author: Luna Fox & F. Lowberry

Date: 2021

Publisher: Luna Fox & F. Lowberry

Quote: "I'm not going to be a spellcaster--I'll be a bodyguard at best."

So young Ludovic thinks when he enters the service of a couple of spellcasters. He doesn't have much guarding to do. His employers are nice people. He marries another servant in the same household. But then the spellcaster Alastor goes a bit power-mad and draws on the magic of the Void to build a forbidden Stone with terrible destructive powers, and the spellcaster Lianna binds him. But, to keep him bound, she has to sacrifice herself by lying down to die of thirst in a cave far from what their world has in the way of civilization. Ludovic has to help.

The details and nuances of this short story are meant to introduce people to the fantasy element in the Stone Legacy series, so the story is available free of charge. Meh. If there weren't so many new books suffering from lack of attention, this year, I'd be interested in the full-length novels that take place when the Stone connects with our world.
