Quote; "She raised an eyebrow at the pile of paperwork on his desk."

Fresh on the job, Detective Locke taunts Detective Murphy about his sleeping on the job, then defies orders and continues working on one of his cases. It's not a difficult case to solve. Was the problem just that Murphy couldn't relate to the teenaged girl victims?

This short e-book switches from mystery to suspense fast, and the plot surprised me only when a misprinted name confused me about how the final scene was being staged. Still, for those who like a "clean," minimally violent, police detective story, this may be a satisfying read. A lot of hitting and emotional abuse, and some gunshots, take place in this kidnapping case, but no rapes or murders.

Every book can't be above average' I rate this one average. If you like the genre, it'll do. Some people want to buy the other books about the cases Ava Locke solves.
