June 7 Link Log

This one wasn't finished when the WiFi network crashed last week. I'm starting a new Link Log today. Categories for this one:

Books

Here's a book by Stacey Dash. (June 8's book review features a book with Stacey Dash on the cover.)

Funny

Because Meryl Streep can play anything.

Good News

It's not every day this web site gets good news from Europe. (Thanks to Avaaz for the tip.)

Green

Should True Greens give up the word "green" and substitute "blue"? I'm not convinced, but perhaps those who watch this video can convince me.

Much can be learned from Frances Moore Lappe...yes, the Granola Green writer whose Diet for a Small Planet was literally Poison Green for me, for the first thirty years of my life. Right-wing readers should read Hope's Edge and Getting a Grip, too. Lappe knows a lot about writing, organizing, and networking.

Health

Here's an unusual story from Dr. McDougall:

Travel

All big cities are angry places. Washington didn't use to be, but with its "urbanization" craze came, well, crowd-craziness, so beware...be-e-e-ware!

Once in a while, as when the subject of cats is mentioned, even Dave Barry manages to be wrong. Consider this vintage article. It's very funny, of course...but this web site has found Atlanta to be an excellent place to recover from the allergy reactions we have whenever we inhale the insect-sprayed air in Florida. Both Adayahi and I are allergic to Florida. Grandma Bonnie Peters claims not to be but she sounds "older" on the phone when she's there.
