Tim Kaine on Fixing the Arlington Memorial Bridge

From U.S. Senator Tim Kaine...in honor of Google's not-exactly-news announcement that they embed cookies on Blogspot blogs, and would like bloggers to post this non-news, I should warn you that several U.S. Senators and Congressmen use cookies. May even contribute cookies to this web site. I think their cookies are harmless, designed just to make sure that readers who e-mail Members of Congress are from the correct State...but somebody might not have known. Anyway, about the bridge:

"
I’m very pleased to announce that the Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded a $90 million grant for repairs to Arlington Memorial Bridge. Two weeks ago, I saw first-hand the kind of shape this iconic landmark and major transportation link was in. Simply put, it is falling apart.
This federal funding is a much needed boost for Northern Virginia commuters and our nation’s infrastructure. I will continue to work diligently with my colleagues in Virginia and D.C. to ensure more resources are allocated to the bridge so that the reconstruction can start as quickly as possible with minimum disruption to the commuters and tourists who rely on the bridge every day.
Learn more about what this announcement will mean for Memorial Bridge here.
Sincerely,
" [nice signature graphic: Tim Kaine]
