Mandatory Vaccinations: HB65

Right, so the majority of Americans still believe that vaccinations are a good thing. Nevertheless, Virginia voters may want to check out House Bill #65:

Personally, I oppose this whole piece of law. The only good thing in it is the removal of the requirement for HPV vaccinations for sixth grade girls.

Based partly on the documented link between swine flu vaccine and cancer in the 1970s, and partly on my own long bout with viral hepatitis transmitted by a measles vaccination (which was still mandatory even though I'd had measles), I think all vaccinations are a calculated risk, and no vaccination should be forced on any person. Your (or your child's) non-vaccinated status presents no risk to those who want vaccination for themselves, so the state should get out of the business of selling vaccine.
