Genetically Modified Foods' Version of the Vicious Spray Cycle

American gardeners should by now be very familiar with the Vicious Spray Cycle: Gardener gets desperate, sprays poison in hope of controlling pests; pests' natural predators die or leave the area; pest populations double and triple until they collapse because the pests have destroyed everything they can eat.
