Title: Reclamation: Path to Singularity
Author: Nicholas Lawrence Carter
Date: 2022
Publisher: Nic Carter
Quote: "Has Satine ever brought back incorrect--or incomplete--data?"
Satine is a robot built to serve the purpose of extending the life of humankind on Earth, in this piece of post-apocalyptic science fiction. The data it's bringing back are unpromising.
This is the sort of thing Amazon makes possible: Writers offer free books, market the sample chapters other publishers have rejected as the free books, and hope the sample chapters will motivate people to buy the full-length books. Amazon requires only a minimum word count and the writer's assurance that nobody is likely to sue them for publishing the words, so that's allowed. But what does it do for the writers? It generates bad reviews. This book seems to be starting a story that's not going to be much fun to read, so the reader is not too disappointed that the story is not finished.
