Ethan West is a doctor, we're supposed to believe, but his father still controls enough of the family's excess wealth that he can be bullied by that line. It's a sweet Christian romance, so you know how this must end.
I don't believe it, but if you like the idea of a romance with a man who has a "really important" job and also happens to be rich, this one may fit your taste. It's part of a series, The First Responders of Faith Valley. In this volume we learn how the doctor found a wife. In other volumes we'll learn how the chiefs of the police and fire department, etc., met and married their wives. The town is called Faith Valley for a reason. Everyone is explicitly a Christian, at least if they want a speaking part in the stories.
The Booktober Blitz filled my Book Funnel with several books better than this one, but with some that are much worse, so meh. Some people will like this book and may want to buy the series. It just doesn't happen to push any of my personal buttons, like.
