Belated Petfinder Post: Cats

Do I need to think of anything to add to the main content of this post? (I have things to do in real life; nothing more cute or clever than the shelter pets is coming to mind.) Too many animals are languishing in shelters these days,. Most of them are dogs. Some are cats. Here are some especially photogenic shelter cats who need homes.

Please share these pictures with everyone you know in the appropriate part of the country...even if your cats are, as mine are, soaking up your attention.

In honor of the cats who are currently soaking up my energy, these are white cats with some colored spots:

Zipcode 10101: Patches and Tutifruti from NYC

Patches is female. Tutifruti is male. The brother and sister are described as very much attached to each other, well behaved with other cats, and shy with humans until they get to know you. If you have some patience and don't expect them to snuggle up to you on sight, they'll probably become pets.

Zipcode 20202: Twix (and family) from Silver Spring

Twix is one of six...one of the orange and white kittens in this photo. Through no fault of her own, just because somebody allowed her mother to give birth to six kittens when this somebody didn't want any, Twix has fallen into the hands of control freaks. In addition to insisting that you take at least two of the half-dozen together, which is reasonable, they also want to know that you'll be paying a vet for lots of vet visits. They'd be an excellent choice for someone who does plan to take reasonable care of them and also plans to move a good long way from the control freaks in a few months. That may not be the nicest way to word an appeal for adoption...well, trying to give away anything, like responsibility for kittens, and hold onto it at the same tme is not very nice either. But the kittens are nice little animals, their personalities not yet ruined by people from whom they need to get away as soon as possible. You can see how each one is sipping its own water, not obsessing with trying to control how the others sip. Too bad some humans are not learning from the kittens' good example.

Zipcode 30303: Xena from Marietta

This senior cat was brought to the shelter by a senior human who could no longer take care of her. She's so old, she may remember when her name was trendy, though probably not when the TV show was on the air. She had a lifelong companion who has already been adopted without her. It sounds like time she found some empathy and respect.
