Book Review: The Wrathlord Invasion

Title: The Wrathlord Invasion

Author: P.C. Darkcliff

Date: 2022

Publisher: P.C. Darkcliff

Quote: "There's no such thing as Wrathlords. Not in Thorstorm."

In a fantasy world inspired by Tolkien's, but bleaker, several humanoid races coexist on less than friendly terms. The king-of-a-town who starts an unprovoked war on another town thinks he has only Daemorcs and Elves to worry about. He is wrong. His nastiness attracts the Wrathlords. Now a complex set of hostilities start what promises to be a long series of battles among humans and nasty-looking monsters.

If battles are your favorite part of classical fantasies, if you enjoyed Beowulf, you may enjoy The Wrathlord Invasion and the five-novellas-that-can-be-printed-as-one-thick-volume that come after it in the story. If battles are the parts you iike to skim over quickly, this one doesn't offer much to skim quickly to.
