"UPDATE from Tom DeWeese, President American Policy Center http://americanpolicy.org/
We are succeeding in pushing the issue of Agenda 21 into the main stream of the political debate. And today, there are battles waging in every single state and almost every city and rural community. Local and county governments, city council members and county commissioners are taking steps to introduce legislation to stop Agenda 21 and Sustainable Development policies. And the planners, Nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and self proclaimed “stakeholders” are pulling out all the big guns to defeat us and keep their strangle hold over our communities and private property.
Here’s just one example of a fire that American Policy Center helped to start and local activists have brought to victory.
This is the first time in the nation that a National Heritage Area has been stopped and local control preserved. This is a major victory!!!
- In southwest Virginia, local activists have won an astounding victory as they became the first in the nation to stop the establishment of a National Heritage Area (NHA). The Crooked Road NHA was to be enforced in 19 counties, with special interests being funded by the National Park Service, giving them power to trample on property rights and stop development of the area.
Please show our appreciation for all that Tom DeWeese and American Policy Center did in helping us win this battle!!! Please click here to make a contribution to APC. We must help keep this organization strong and working for us!
More from Tom DeWeese
President, American Policy Center
Just a couple of weeks ago I was released from the hospital and am now resting at home. I had emergency surgery on my stomach in an extremely rare condition. I was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) listed as critical for four days.
The doctors tell me that it will be a couple of months before I am able to resume my full schedule of activities, including writing, travel and speaking, and radio and TV interviews.
Unfortunately I’ve been forced to cancel several speeches, including Maryland, Ohio, Arlington, Virginia, and Delaware. That hurts, because new battles have opened in all of those critical states. Activists are asking for my help to organize.
But my small, dedicated staff and I are doing the best we can to keep the American Policy Center’s (APC) vital programs running.
This is a critical time for APC and our battle to stop Agenda 21 and I urgently need your help – more than ever.
As you know, we are winning some battles around the nation as more and more Americans are becoming aware of Agenda 21 and its dangers.
Even as Republicans and Conservatives have lost battle after battle in Congress and in the courts, APC and those fighting Agenda 21 are scoring victories in our local communities and state legislatures.
After so many years of being ignored on the Agenda 21 issue, it’s amazing to see what is happening.
We are succeeding in pushing the issue of Agenda 21 into the main stream of the political debate.
And today, there are battles waging in every single state and almost every city and rural community.
And the planners, Nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and self proclaimed “stakeholders” are pulling out all the big guns to defeat us and keep their strangle hold over our communities and private property.
Here’s just one example of a fire that APC helped to start and local activists have brought to victory.
- In South West Virginia, local activists have won an astounding victory as they became the first in the nation to stop the establishment of a National Heritage Area (NHA). The Crooked Road NHA was to be enforced in 19 counties, with special interests being funded by the National Park Service, giving them power to trample on property rights and stop development of the area.
This is the first time in the nation that a NHA has been stopped and local control preserved. This is a major victory!!!
- At least ten state legislatures, including Nebraska, Washington, Michigan, Indiana, Virginia, Tennessee, and Maine have joined Alabama to pass state laws to stop the spread of Agenda 21. Some passed, some didn’t. But the battles are engaged and not going away!
- The same thing is happening in more and more local and county governments, where city council members and county commissioners are also taking steps to introduce legislation to stop Agenda 21 and Sustainable Development policies.
In almost every case I have been directly or indirectly involved, providing assistance, suggestions for language and so forth. In other cases, the activists and elected officials are using APC materials to educate and organize opposition.
In the past month, APC has distributed almost 2,000 copies of our new booklet, “Agenda 21 and How to Stop It.” It is proving to be one of the most valuable tools we have ever designed in this fight.
Our extensive “Stop Agenda 21 Action Kit” is being used by several hundred activists. For example, one activist in Ohio used the kit to create a seminar to teach others about Agenda 21 and how to stop it.
And I can’t keep APC’s DVDs, flyers, and books in stock.
This is all the good news. I’m thrilled with such success. There is no denying that APC is the recognized leader in this battle. Everyone is looking to me to help them organize.
BUT………………………………
My hospitalization has cost APC dearly.
Not only has it slowed our momentum to create more tools for fighting back, it has taken me off the road and the air ways. Critical projects I was working on just before being stricken have been delayed.
But the worst part is this.
In my absence, APC’s vital funding has nearly dried up. I haven’t been there to oversee and guide our fund raising effort.
Right now, APC’s bank account is at the lowest level in our history. I must find a way to turn this around – and fast.
It’s bad enough that I am temporarily sidelined and unable to travel and speak, but to shut off or delay any of APC’s programs, right in the middle of the greatest successes in APC’s 26 year history, will be a disaster.
My small staff is hanging with me as best they can. But time is growing very short. I must turn this funding shortage around right away – or I fear disaster for APC.
This is an emergency. I have no one to turn to but you.
May I ask you to come to my aid with an emergency contribution today?
Please click here to make an emergency contribution to APC. It will give me the immediate funds I need to keep APC’s doors open and our vital programs running.
I know everyone is hurting in this economy. But APC is wining battles like no other group in the nation. We are the one bright spot in the battle against Obama and his oppressive Sustainable Development policies. We are winning on the local level.
But all of that could come to a crashing halt if APC is unable to continue.
Please, I couldn’t be more serious with you. My financial crisis is very real and could damage APC’s successful efforts to stop Agenda 21. Please help!
Sincerely,
Tom DeWeese
President
